From Idea to Launch: The Story of Study in France 📖
It all started with a simple idea: making it easier for international students to settle in France.
But between that idea and the creation of Study in France, there were meetings, doubts, trials—and above all, a strong desire to build something truly useful.
Here’s how it all came together, from our first conversations with students to the launch of the project… and what’s coming next!

🇦🇺 2011 – The Beginning of the Project
In 2011, Adrien and Théo decided to spend a year in Perth, Australia, on a Working Holiday Visa (WHV). Their goal? Improve their English and immerse themselves in Australian culture.
Visa applications, health insurance, English courses, housing, job hunting… The preparation was intense, and they could have easily felt overwhelmed—until they stumbled upon a goldmine of a website: a community platform dedicated to French travelers heading to Australia.
Back in 2011, Australia-Australie was a game-changer for anyone dreaming of spending a year Down Under. It provided all the essential information, hosted meetups in Paris, and had an incredibly active forum where travelers shared their experiences.
Thanks to this platform, Adrien and Théo quickly handled their paperwork, found two Australian host families, and once they arrived, both landed restaurant jobs to support themselves.
🌍 2012-2019 – Returning to France, and an Idea Takes Shape
Back in France, Adrien and Théo resumed their studies, but the idea never left them.
A few years later, an Erasmus exchange in Madrid and Krakow reminded them just how complicated moving to a new country can be—especially when it comes to navigating the administrative maze.
That’s when they realized how much Australia-Australie had simplified their experience. And they asked themselves: Why not create a similar platform to help international students coming to France?
🚀 2020 – The Launch of Study in France
After months of meeting international students and schools, developing the first website prototypes, and figuring out a sustainable economic model, Study in France officially came to life.
The goal was clear: to transform the experience of international students in France… no small feat!
The timing was perfect… or almost. March 2020: borders close. Everything seemed to slow down. But the project kept moving forward, and three years later, Study in France launched the first version of its all-in-one platform: the Student Hub.
📱 2023 – The Student Hub Launches in Rennes
A huge milestone!
We moved from simple guides to an interactive platform—the Student Hub—designed to provide students with all the essential information they need to prepare for their stay in France.
Rennes was the first city to host it… but this was just the beginning.
🎨 2025 – A New Identity, Same Mission
Study in France is evolving, with a new visual identity and a stronger structure to support its growth. But the mission remains unchanged: helping even more students, even more effectively.

So, What’s Next?
We can’t reveal everything just yet… but trust us, we’ve got a lot lined up until 2028!
📍 Expanding the Student Hub to major university cities across France. Currently available in Rennes, it will soon roll out in more cities, reaching even more students. New features are on the way — some of which you can already check out in our public roadmap.
💡 Two brand-new projects are in the works — ones that will make life easier for students (and hopefully, schools too!). We’re keeping things under wraps for now, but stay tuned—we’ll share more soon.
